Dripping Paint Nails

I've seen this design in quite a lot of different places so I thought that I would show you how to do this design.
Let me know if you have any requests or improvements, I would love to hear them.

What you need:

For this design you will need:
1. A base coat and top coat. For this design I used a top coat for both as I have run out of base coat.
2. A white nail varnish. I used Collection 5 Day Wear in the colour 103 French White.
3. A nail varnish in any colour. I have used the colour red, however I'm not sure where it is from. I got it in a set as a gift a few years ago.
4. A matte top coat. I used Essie Matte About You.
5. A large and small dotter. I used this double ended one which I purchased from Amazon in a set of 5. If you do not own a dotter, you can use the end of a bobby pin for the larger dotter and the end of a toothpick for the smaller dotter.

Step 1:
Apply a base coat all over the nail.
Allow to dry completely.

Step 2:
Apply the white nail varnish.
You can use as many coats as you like until it is completely opaque. I used two.
Allow to dry completely.

 Step 3:
Use the matte top coat over the whole nail.
Allow to dry completely.

Step 4:
Using the larger dotter, apply a dot of red nail polish and slowly release the pressure you apply it with whilst dragging it towards your tip. This will make the line thinner. Do this a few times with different length lines and different size spots.
Move straight on to the next step.

Step 5:
Join the dots together with curved lines using the smaller dotter.
Fill in the spaces.
Allow to dry completely.

Step 6:
Finally, apply a top coat over the 'paint' but NOT over the white base as this will defeat the point of the matte coat. It will make the paint appear 'wet'.
